Andrea Costello's greatest dream is to live in a cottage in the woods and become a woodland hag. Since there is little money in the woodland hag business, she writes books and teaches creative writing and voice performance.

She is also known by her YA penname, A. R. Maxwell, under which she has written The Heliotrope Diaries — a superhero trilogy for teens.

When she isn't writing or teaching, you may find her curled up in her favorite chair reading a good book, or out for a walk listening to a good book or, perhaps, cleaning her house while listening to a good book (this is less frequent, much to the chagrin of her very messy kitchen).
